Here’s a summary linking up all the posts related to our 18-day Japan trip in November 2009.
The posts with asterisks was updated with some videos after it was first published. Do go see!
Next destination, one of Japan’s three most scenic views – Matsushima!
The day started out with us taking a train to Sendai and from there, we got to Hon-Shiogama station on the Sensenki line. The journey took about 2h from Tokyo.
At the Hon-Shiogama station, we wandered into a travel agency while trying to find directions to the pier. Lucky us got slightly discounted tickets for the cruise at the travel agency and made our way to Shiogama Pier.
Besides us, there was just a small group of Japanese on that cruise. I saw a larger cruise boat near the one we boarded and I’m still wondering if there’s any difference between the cruises. The travel agent told us there’s no difference…hmm.
There were numerous seagulls chasing the boat as we sailed off and it was a pretty sight. Pity we didn’t manage to capture nice shots of the seagulls – so difficult to capture moving objects!
On the cruise, there was a recording that (presumably) introduced the sights along the voyage. It was of course in Japanese, and all I could catch was left (hidari) and right (migi), haha! Well, it still helps for us to be looking at the correct direction right?! We were at the open area for most parts of the cruise and it was cold from the wind~~
